Spring has Sprung!

Adios winter! While the calendar says today is the first day of spring, I know we are most likely not out of the woods yet. We are likely going to get another round of cold weather before we sail into warmer, longer days. However, just knowing that winter (according to the calendar) is over, makes me extremely happy. I am not a cold weather person. Like the sunflower, I want my face in the sun. I thrive on an abundance of vitamin D. I was born to wear flip flops. As a kid, I spent hours on Rockaway Beach, soaking up the sun and breathing in the salt water air. I was a city girl meant to live by the sea.

Somewhere around the middle of October, I begin to feel it. Winter looms and the panic sets in. You’ll get to wear cute sweaters and boots I remind myself. Who cares? my summer-loving self replies.

Sweaters replace tees, flip flops are pushed aside for boots and closed-toe shoes. Heated blankets are plugged back in. On the couch, under multiple blankets, with a cup of tea is where you’ll find me most days in the winter months

Not today. Today, you’ll find me dreaming of summer, knowing that the first day of spring means it isn’t too far away. ☀️

"You'll get to wear cute sweaters and boots". LOL-I say the same thing to myself. Although I hate the transition, once spring is here I'm always ready.
