Unspoiled

There is a small island in the Caribbean that most do not know. This unspoiled paradise sits fifty miles off the coast of Venezuela and is considered to be one of the best places in the world to scuba dive. Iguana, goats, and even donkeys roam here. The native language is Papiamento, a Spanish-Portuguese creole language. There is not a traffic light or high rise hotel to be found. What you will find, however, is an abundance of friendly people, incredible food, and turquoise water.
Bonaire has been a part of my life since I was seventeen years old and visited for the first time. From the moment you step foot onto the island, it steals your heart. The slow pace, perfect weather, and unspoiled nature are just what the doctor ordered. Days are spent riding mopeds, watching the windsurfers, snorkeling, and strolling through town. Life feels easy here. Bonaire is one of my favorite places in the world, so I thought I would share it with you.
Well...now I want to go there! I never heard of it. How did you get introduced to it at 17? I feel like there are so many stories hiding there....
I have never heard of this place!! Thank you for sharing. It looks like paradise.
